Welcome to our web site. Villi Poni Farm (Finnish for "Wild Pony") is a small private farm dedicated to educating people about the wonderful Newfoundland Pony. Having moved to this beautiful spot in June 2011 we worked hard to prepare for the winter. Our home, like our website is a work in progress. Our farm currently has four registered Newfies, with a foal on the way Spring 2012. Members of the Newfoundland Pony Society, based in Canada, we and others in the U.S. and Canada are striving to bring these beautiful creatures back from the verge of extinction, and feel that identification, careful breeding, and education are key to their survival.
Emily is a renowned author of children's stories and a columnist for the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. George is a retired police officer who never expected to become a pony farmer. Our farm has a wonderful cast of animal characters and is the home of Mabel, the heroine of Emily's beloved books; "Mabel Takes the Ferry, Mabel Takes a Sail and Mabel Takes a Paddle". You can learn more about Mabel, and Emily's other books by going to her web site at www.emilychetkowski.com. Or check her out on Amazon at www.amazon.com/author/emilychetkowski
